The Journey & Clarity

It occurs every two years, just like clockwork. The same weekend, in a different state, the gathering.  The gatherings organized by a committee in the state of which the event is held that endure no less than a year of plans.  Attendance can range from 200 to 400, the common denominator, our ancestors, from origins of Scotland, Ireland, England and Africa. For me, years of research starting with the ships that sailed with ancestors to ports of destinations prior to 1800. Years of discussions and documentation was instrumental in producing “The Birth of a Prestigious Family.”

It was this August 2013 gathering that is the essence of this writing, culminating in being “Broadsided.” Years of pondering questions confirmed via a 20 minute ride from the airport to the hotel.

One question, but powerful confirmations of a journey that began as a child.  A focus and direction never left behind. “Relationship Building” the very core of successful entrepreneurs and businesses resulting in “make or break it deals.” From an early age extending beyond the comfort zone of an African American origin was an absolute necessity. The child’s question? What lies beyond the books and pictures of Africa and other far- away places? Why are friendships not extended beyond these boundaries?  Inquisitive, as a young adult.  What are the keys to global business expansion?

 A 20 Minute Ride & “BROADSIDED!”

[Driver:  Cheryl, Do You Know Tony Robbins?]

[Me: No, I don’t know him personally, but I have come across some of his information.]

[Driver:  Let me tell you about an event I attended for four (4) days that completely changed my life.]

[Driver:  Are you familiar with “Unleashing the Alpha Within?]

[Me:   Not entirely.  I had an occasion recently, about two weeks ago to meet via Google+ Hangouts, an individual by the name of Darren Little who relayed his experience of Unleashing the Alpha Within.  One of his mentors is, Tony Robbins.  In Darren Little's information, I gained an understanding of the "hows and whys" of my consistency in gaining ground on relationship building.   Visualization, Law of Attraction, Abundance & Mindset, Whatever You Want, Starts to Want You,” something that  I came to understand has been the very essence of my ability to global connections. The reason why I was as comfortable in Africa as I was on the sand in the Middle East.  Why I attract the people in my life, who come for a reason and are only to stay for a season.  Why some are permanent fixtures.]

[Driver:  Cheryl, I have known you for some time now, but let me tell you that the four (4) day preparation was intense prior to walking on the fire.]

[Me:  Not sure I would have tried it.  This is amazing, but you just gave confirmation to several questions that have plagued me for some time. I deeply felt the answers within. Seriously, mostly, not wanting to believe or surrender to: (Speaking Affirmations, Visualization (seeing one’s self there), Law of Attraction, Whatever You Want, Starts to Want You, The Power of the Subconscious and Visualization, Ask and It Shall Be Given.  All instrumental and present in one’s purpose and attributable to successful leaders. It was definitely meant for you to attend this gathering and for us to have this conversation.  One conversation, several confirmations.  How powerful is that? ]
